My new home

Yesterday I woke up feeling like I had butterflies flying inside my stomach! I felt very excited and nervous all at once, because it was the big day when we were all to leave our Mum and Dad. We all had a very big group hug and said goodbye, but we promised we’d all keep in touch so it wasn’t so sad. Then we all set off in different directions to our new homes!

I arrived at Amelia’s doorstep and knocked, then sat on the doormat nervously. After a short wait Amelia answered the door and said hello with a massive smile and all my nerves vanished!

Amelia showed me round my new home, and told me all about her family. They are a lot easier to tell apart than mine! Then we went out into the garden. I was going to walk round politely but then she suddenly gave me a tickle, and we ended up playing chase round and round until we both collapsed into fits of giggles!

Later Amelia showed me how to use the laptop so I could write letters to you. (I have to admit my Mum helped me with the last one!) There were lots of games on it and I nearly got distracted playing cards, but she showed me all the letter keys and today I was able to type this all myself!

After all that hard work we were both feeling very sleepy. Amelia tucked me into bed and read me a bedtime story. She was really good at doing all the different voices, but I was so snug next to her that I think I dropped off to sleep in the middle!

I haven’t got to the really exciting part yet though! As I said, all my litter-mates set off to their new homes too, and one of them is on their way to you! They are travelling in their own special packaging separate to this letter to keep them safe. Please give them a very big welcome hug when they arrive and look after them well!

With this letter is a certificate which shows that you have officially adopted my litter-mate.There’s a space for you to fill in their new name once you’ve chosen it.

I’d love to hear what you’ve called them, and if you’re able, to see photos of them with you, so I can put them in future letters! If you’d like to, you can write or email me at the addresses at the top of the page. Have fun together!

With woofs and dots,
 Dottie
